The Pursuit of Alice Thrift

Finished a very enjoyable Elinor Lipman on the plane back -- The Pursuit of Alice Thrift, which Mom had passed along a while back after she read a bunch of the author's works. It is the story of a workaholic surgical intern without any social skills who falls into an ill-fated romantic entaglement with a lying fudge-salesman.
