Yay! My friend Darren is running for congress in NY! Here's part of his announcement email:

As you know I have spent the past fifteen years working in government and politics and passionately trying to promote Democratic change in America. At this critical juncture in the state of our nation, I cannot help but feel compelled to do more. 

I am proud to announce that I have decided to run for the United States Congress. 

I am seeking to represent the hardworking people of Congressional District 19 in New York State which includes parts of Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess, Orange and Rockland counties. My family, friends and community deserve a representative who will fight to ensure security both at home and abroad and who will work to protect social security, provide greater access to healthcare and promote equal access to quality education.
